I was born in La Rochelle ( France ) in 1958 and grew up in the Saintonge area and the Oleron Island. In the depths of the Charentaise country, I had as an only friend a poet in his fifties, with whom I spent long hours in his little poetry shop in Saint Pierre d’Oleron. I was fascinated by his artist style and like him, I longed to express myself... but in a different way!
I started painting on wooden plates, that I had found here and there and my school pencils and paint tubes were whispering to my ears what the future held for me. Painting became my passion and main pastime.
At the age of 16, I footed the Parisian pavement for the first time. I had many jobs of all kinds there, and started to earn my living modestly. In 1988, I discovered the graphic arts and made a profession of them, while devoting the major part of my time to my artistic activity, exhibiting my pastel and oil paintings constantly all over the capital. Ten years later, I gave up my job as a graphist and devoted all my time to my passion. On the following year, I settled in my native area, in the town of Saintes and began participating in some exhibitions in various places, while sharing my working methods with my students.
In January 2004, my dream came true with the opening of my painting gallery-workshop in the town centre, where I now have the privilege to work in the company of my students, in total freedom, observed by passers-by going past my workshop. During these last years, more han 150 persons attended my individual painting lessons and nearly one thousand canvasses were made under my advice. The taking part of my students to som exhibitions which sometimes gave rise to rewards, only brought me even more happiness, self-confidence, as well as an even more refined experience.
