   BRES est venu à la peinture dans les années soixante en autodidacte réellement doué et épris de son art. Il n'a reçu pour toute leçon que celle de la nature.
          Son oeuvre, inspirée de la beauté et du bonheur, superbe de puissance, émerveille, étonne. D'une exquise tendresse, elle parle au coeur, elle boulverse dans sa pureté, sa spontanéité et sa noblesse. C'est une invitation au romanesque le plus poétique.
          Ses paysages vous pénètrent, on s'y installe. Ses personnages vous interpellent. D'une majesté terrienne, ils vous entraînent au coeur de l'authentique.

BRES ne nous dit-il pas : "Je veux que ma peinture soit avant tout un témoignage".

   BRES came to painting in the sixties, a really gifted self-taught artist in love with his art. The only lessons he ever took were from nature.
          His work, inspired by beauty and happiness, superb and forceful, causes one to wonder and marvel. Of exquisite tenderness, it speaks the language of the heart and stirs you deep down because it is pure, spontaneous and noble. It is an invitation to the adventure of fancy and poetry.
          His landscapes have a penetrating charm and you soon feel at home among them. The characters on the canvas capture your attention. Their rustic majesty carry you into the heart of authenticity.
